Many Strides and Bus Rides

London on foot, UK by bus

Home

Welcome to my blog!  2017 was a special year for me.  My age ended in a 0 once more, so I thought I’d try to make it memorable.

My aim was to raise at least £500 for charity, and to do something new along the way.  Inspired by the books of author Mark Mason, I decided to take on two challenges.  In June, I travelled from Land’s End to John O’Groats, using only local buses.  In addition to this, throughout the year and into 2018/19…as long as it takes I will be walking the London underground lines, overground.  (I don’t much fancy walking through tunnels, and I believe TFL frown upon it anyway.)

If you would like to sponsor me, my Underground Overground walk is in aid of the mental health charity Mind, you can find my JustGiving page here.

My Land’s End to John O’Groats is to raise money for Parkinson’s UK, and my JustGiving page is here.

If you want to find out more about the books that inspired these projects, Mark Mason’s website is here.  They’re a witty read, and full of interesting facts, some of which you’ll see in my posts.  You should buy them from Waterstones or your local independent book shop.  Bookshops are fabulous places!

I hope you enjoy reading about my adventures!
